LGBTQ Therapy
Living your truth in a world that often judges or misunderstands you can be incredibly challenging.
At S.A.G.E., we provide LGBTQ+ affirming individual and couples therapy. We support your identity without pathologizing it, creating space where your sexuality or gender identity is respected but not assumed to be the focus unless you want it to be.
How We Can Help
We support LGBTQ+ clients with a wide range of concerns, including:
Depression and anxiety
Loneliness and isolation
Relationship and communication challenges
Men who struggle to build or sustain intimate relationships
Couples navigating conflict or transition
Support for people living with HIV/AIDS
Support for partners or loved ones of those with serious illness
Grief and loss, including LGBTQ+ widowers
You deserve a space where you can show up fully as yourself — without judgement, without assumptions, and without having to explain your existence. We’re here to walk alongside you.
Understanding Identity Development
Many people move through different stages as they form and integrate their LGBTQ+ identity. Knowing where you are in this process can help guide therapy. Stages may include:
Identity Awareness – Recognizing feelings that differ from what you’ve been taught or see around you.
Identity Comparison – Questioning why your feelings differ from peers or family.
Identity Tolerance – Struggling with or attempting to deny your feelings.
Identity Pride – Feeling anger or resentment toward people or systems that reject your identity.
Identity Acceptance – Beginning to embrace your sexuality or gender identity, with both its challenges and strengths.
Identity Synthesis – Integrating your identity as one meaningful part of who you are, not the defining whole.
